MATERIALS

Bamboo floors look and feel more like old growth hardwood than you might think. This material is durable, comfortable, beautiful, and sustainable (bamboo can be harvested every five years). Our bamboo was installed pre-finished, thus improving the air quality within the building.

Fiberglass windows combine the insulation qualities of vinyl and the durability of aluminum. And they come from a sustainable source - the main ingredient is sand.

The wood structure of ELEVATION 314 is made from forest products that are harvested only from Certified Managed Forests. These forests practice the best of sustainable management techniques to preserve our woodlands.

The concrete structure of ELEVATION 314 includes 20% fly ash, which is the byproduct of some types of power production. Thus recycling a typically wasted product.

The exterior finish materials are brick and Cementitious Fiberboard. Brick is an age-old sustainable material, and the Fiberboard is just as good. It is made of cement and wood fiber waste. It is functional, durable, and recyclable – and when it’s painted looks just like wood siding.

Paint, sealants, caulks, adhesives etc – were all chosen for their minimal offgassing of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
